This privacy notice tells you what to expect when True Leadership collects personal information. It applies to information we use for:

marketing activities

We may collect information about you during certain activities, including

  • when we meet you in person e.g. at an event or meeting
  • when you sign up for marketing communications
  • when we speak with you on the phone
  • feedback about your client experience
marketing communications

We use a third-party provider, Campaign Monitor, to deliver our electronic marketing communications. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks to help us monitor and improve content.

When you subscribe to our marketing communications sent by Campaign Monitor, you can cancel your subscription at any time by clicking on the link at the bottom of the emails you receive.

For other emails and phone calls, you can opt out of communications by emailing clarebaker@true-leadership.co.uk.

testimonials and referrals

You may be asked to provide a testimonial or referral after using our services. This information may be published on the True Leadership website, e-newsletter and other marketing materials, and in emails. We only include personal information provided and approved by you.

people who contact us

When you contact us by email, we may offer to send you resources and information about our services. We may also invite you to sign up to our newsletter or other marketing communications.

Any email sent to us, including any attachments, may be monitored and used by us for reasons of security. Email monitoring or blocking software may also be used. Please be aware that you have a responsibility to ensure that any email you send to us is within the bounds of the law.

The use of technology (e.g. emails and voicemails) can pose a risk to confidentiality. Consequently, if you use a certain means of technology to communicate with True Leadership, we will assume that it is appropriate for us to do so in our interactions with you.

clients

We have to hold the details of the people who use our services in order to provide them. However, we only use these details to provide the service you have requested and for other closely related purposes. For example, we might use information about people who have used our services to find out if they are happy with the level of service you received, to request a testimonial or referral, or to ask if you would like to continue to receive leadership or fundraising resources by subscribing to our newsletter.

fundraising organisations

If there is a business need for you to share the data of your supporters with us our contract will contain a data sharing agreement. Where appropriate a privacy impact assessment will be completed.

access to personal information

True Leadership tries to be as open as it can be in terms of giving you access to your personal information. You can find out if we hold any personal information by making a ‘subject access request’ under the Data Protection Act 1998.

If we do hold information about you, we will:

  • give you a description of it;
  • tell you why we are holding it;
  • tell you who it could be disclosed to; and
  • let you have a copy of the information

To make a request to True Leadership for any personal information we may hold you need to put the request in writing to the address provided below.

If you agree, we will try to deal with your request informally, for example by providing you with the specific information you need over the telephone.

If we do hold information about you, you can ask us to correct any mistakes by, once again, contacting the us at the address below.

True Leadership takes any complaints we receive about collecting and using personal information very seriously. We encourage you to bring it to our attention if you think that our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading or inappropriate.
